I have had a look around but cant seem to see any chinese recipes similar to what i would spend a fortune on at the takeaway. We really only tend to eat chow meins and sweet and sour dishes - oh and mini spring rolls. Can anyone help save me money?

    Hi slm6002,

There's an earlier thread that should help so I've added your post to it to keep the recipes together.

If you do a 'search this forum' and go to advanced search putting chinese in the title there are lots more threads but too many for me to list here.

I used to run a Chinese takeaway. What type of meals were you thinking of?

Can you give me an inkling of how to make crispy chilli beef and the sweet and sour sauce? I've brought Chinese cook books in the past and these are the 2 recipes i never get (and the ones my OH wont go without!) i want them to taste like the classic take-away!

this is my first question as well (priorities lol)

    Thank you!!

There is a very good book called The Takeaway Secret which shows you how to recreate takeaway meals at home.
