The trouble with that is ppl just buy low priced items to get a few possy feedbacks to make there account look better for selling.

The reason I suggest that genuine sellers ought to build up a little feedback first is so they gain experience on how it all actually works. A year or so ago I bought something from a seller with three or four positives, it was very low cost and I paid by paypal so I was fairly comfortable it was a risk worth taking.

I paid my money and waited and after about 6-7 days I phoned the seller to see what was happening as I had heard nothing. It turned out that they hadn't got the price they wanted for the item so thought they could just walk away, they honestly thought my winning bid was just an offer. They refunded my payment immediately, again they explained that they didn't think I was able to pay until they actually agreed to go ahead with the sale so hadn't noticed my paypal money. They had never bought anything from ebay, only sold, and had no idea how it worked. I wasn't out of pocket on that occasion but it was frustrating, the seller was NARUd shortly afterwards though but I don't know why.

I'm still desperate to know though how the OP is going to accept credit cards for this auction..accepting credit cards without going through paypal and without having a merchant account would be great, I do wonder though if it is a mistake.

    HI Soo

I wasnt having a go i do agree with what you have said
The point i was making is ppl make a big thing of not buying from a low or zero rated seller yet we all had to start there.
I have ppl with 100% feedback in the 300's not pay before and ppl with 1 or zero pay straight away ( funny thing is ebay )

As for the seller accepting credit cards i want to know as well.

Jaffa I'm sorry if my post seemed confrontational, it wasn't meant to be. I was merely explaining why I personally prefer to deal with a seller with some history.

As for buyers I am happy for new buyers to buy from me, I love to be the first to leave a nice positive feedback saying ..'and welcome to ebay'.

    Hi ketherin,
Notice your phone is doing really well now. However, I do notice that the high bidder is 0 f/b and location singapore. I would be concerned possibly. Just wondered if you have had any contact assuring you they're genuine. Just a thought, glad the phones doing well.
  • I started out by selling low value items just to get some positive feedback because when I am buying I am put off by a brand new seller.
