new to ebay help please

I'm trying to sell a mobile phone on ebay, and I cant see the listing when I search.
When I look at myebay the listing is there and all looks ok, but go to the home page and search on mobiles I cant see it ?

I'm not sure if its saying the listing is in a catagoie called "other", but I've just edited the listing and selected "mobile & home phone - mobile - nokia" and saved that and then submitted the change..

Any help or ideas anyone thanks

If it is listed on "my Ebay" as selling then it has gone through fine.

Don't worry, it can take minutes or maybe "hours" for your listing to be made searchable. It all depends on how busy their servers are. I've always hated this because it is like they are short changing you of your listing time.

    Ebay's official wording:
Your item has been successfully listed on eBay. It may take several hours for your listing to appear in eBay search results.
As to check what category you have submitted it to then open the item in "My Ebay" and if you look at the top of the page it says "Listed in Category".

I listed the phone yesterday, and did make a change a while ago, so maybe I'll have to wait & I can see that its in a catagory now but still cant see it in a search.

Nokia 6230 mobile phone Item number: 6408877211

Would anyone be so kind as to see if they can see it on a search,

    Thanks you

    You listed it incorrectly.

    It is currently in

"Listed in category: Mobile & Home Phones > Mobile Phones > Nokia > 9 Series"

    but it should be in

"Listed in category: Mobile & Home Phones > Mobile Phones > Nokia > 6 Series"

Some more things to bear in mind:

    1) The final price should be over £30 in which case you shouldn't be sending it via 1st class mail
    2) Payment method is credit card? This would suggest you have a merchant CC processor?

    3) Zero feedback seller who only signed up 2 days ago will drive away a lot of potential buyers.

if it doesnt sell might be worth trying to sell a couple of cheap items and get some good feedback, people will be more willing to buy from you
    goodluck :D

Alternatively, you could purchase a few cheaper items to try and bulk the feedback up a little, always helps when your a new user on eBay, I know I wouldn't bid on any item that was being sold by someone with 0 feedback. No matter what payment methods they accepted.

Doesnt everyone who Buys And Sells on ebay start with a zero.
If we didnt buy or sell to a zero rated ebay member they would never move from zero.
Ive bought and sold to members with 0 and only had one problem ( maybe i am lucky )

I never mind selling to a zero feedback buyer but personally would not buy from someone with no low feedback.

My reason is that I can talk a new buyer through the process if they don't follow how it all works, with a new seller I stand to risk losing money if they misunderstand how ebay works.

I do also have a question for the OP- I've never seen an individual take credit card payments, how are you planning to do that , do you have a merchant account?

Also, as has already been said you should send the phone special delivery if it reaches over £30 in total.

Personally though if I was buying unfortunately I would not give this auction more than a cursory glance. The credit card payment worries me almost as much as the no feedback. The auction also does not state what is included, like chargers or manual and that would be nice to know.

" I never mind selling to a zero feedback buyer but personally would not buy from someone with no low feedback. " Soo

The trouble with that is ppl just buy low priced items to get a few possy feedbacks to make there account look better for selling.

Every buying / selling transaction on ebay is a possible danger to loose your money / goods
Power sellers rip ppl off and do low rated members

As i said before we all started with 0 feedback.

I do take the points about this particular auction and would avoid it myself
