I want to buy vegetarian marshmallows
Comments

I was just about to order some veggie marshmallows from Alternative Stores (rather pricey but I thought they could be a Christmas treat) when I discovered I had to add another £4.99 for postage. Even for 'Christmas' I don't think I can justify £19 for 400g of marshmallows! I guess we've lived without them this long...
But if anyone knows of a promo code for postage or somewhere else that does these at something approaching a reasonable price then I would really like to know.2021 Targets

These ones don't use veggie gelatine

They also do a cracking vegan dairy free cheese that really tastes like dairy cheese plus lots of other vegan sweets

Unfortunately only applicable to people living in London, but they have vegan marshmallow in jars on top of the sweet counter in the Whole Foods Market in Kensington. It's quite expensive, but when you account the cost of P&P it's cheaper than you would pay online.
They do a selection of flavours, but trusty old vanilla is my favourite.0 -

Do vegetarian ones exist, and if so where can I get them?

You can always grow your own. Marshmallow sweets are called marshmallows for a reason, because they're made from the powdered roots of the er, marshmallow plant, Althaea officinalis. It appears that some health food type shops also seem to sell the stuff - at least typing 'marshmallow root' into Google shopping brings up some results. I expect there might even be some instructions somewhere on the interweb regarding the next stage.0 -
I used to have a recipe for making them with agar flakes too. It was a bit involved, but worth it if you like marshmallows, I suppose. I'm not a big fan, so just have them for an occasional treat (like once a year).Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0

EthicalCommunity.com sell these, just go to the site and search for marshmallows0

The best and cheapest option for any dietary needs is to DIY. Find some recipes and purchase veggie alternative ingredients such as gelatin. If you are as strong in your beliefs to eat properly then a little bit of cooking won't hurt.
Not forgetting it is the healthiest option for you as you know every ingredient that goes in the meal/dessert! : )
lightisfading- I find that the onken biopot yogurts taste delicious and they are veggie (strawberry, passion fruit & mango, cherry etc), but i'm not sure if they do vanilla, sorry.0 -
As mentioned above, Ethical Community stock them. They're about £4.50. Not sure about p&p as I've not ordered them yet:

I've dredged this thread up in the hope that someone knows of a reasonably priced product. Scrumptious Sweets are just too expensive (£3.49 for 66g - pulheaze!), and DIY is too much trouble as I just wanted to add it to some rocky road for that extra chew factor.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
