However, there's nothing to stop you saying "on better days...", "on average days..", "on worst days..."

Has anyone else looked at the date of this thread?

yup it was reactivated by someone who has advocates/commits benefit fraud instead of filling in the forms as I have and you have and have posted here, maybe they are looking for an even better method to make sure that they are granted DLA again in July?

Yep, and it was bumped back up by a virgin poster....hmmmmm.....
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

You fail to have read Brummy Mummy's suggestion accurately.

    She suggests that:

'i would say to fill the form out on your worse day'

    You understood:

'you cant fill in the form based on your worst days'.

Basing the content of your answers on your worst day is a different thing to filling out the form when you are having a really bad day.

In my experience volunteering at CAB people tend to underplay, rather than overplay, the significance of their inabilities and discomfort. Even those who have disabilities that render them incapacitated sporadically can apply for DLA, because you never know when you are next going to be incapable of working or maintaining a home or to do any of the other things we have to do. I read these forums often, but this is my first post - I found your kneejerk assumption of benefit fraud distasteful and, yes, 'people like you make it worse for the rest of disabled people'.

yes i agree thye second descision can be good i got mine tht way even tho its hard i would say to fill the form out on your worse day then the pain is very real they r a nightmare mine is due up in july and i am worrying about it even tho ive had it for 5 yrs now but if u dont get it first time never give up i hardly know any one who got it first time CAB i have heard are good i have never used them but will this time see if i can get it first time for once. keep fighting and good luck

The second desiciscion can be good I got mine tht way= she got her DLA on reconsideration.

then the pain is very real= she gets some pain

even tho its hard i would say to fill the form out on your worse day= fill in your forms based on your worst day.

Maybe you should read the post and not jump to assumptions, you make CAB look bad but since they encourage DLA fraud thats not hard, if you really did read these forums regularly you would know that wouldnt you and your post tells me and other MSE'rs plenty that we all ready knew.

as for " Even those who have disabilities that render them incapacitated sporadically can apply for DLA, because you never know when you are next going to be incapable of working or maintaining a home or to do any of the other things we have to do" it would be nice to be incapacitated sporadically but unfortunatly its not like that for many disabled people and their disabilities are perminant and do allow you to work, maintain a home etc.

    Tomorrow 1pm :(
dreading it, but i can only tell them the truth.

they have no recent paperwork about me from any medical persons..
but i have a letter from my consultant that my gp should have too, this is about 3 months old, as one particular gp said she didn't believe i had ms until she had proof of the consultant. This letter is consultants reply to her. i have that packed to show them tomorrow, is it worth showing the medical personage anything tomorrow seeing as they do not make any descisions, or just wait for the fail and appeal stage?

    Ty for asking :)

Ive been tested for MS twice and its not pleasant, it hurts.

I think that you will be ok with the letter to prove that you now have a positive MS diagnosis, DLA make an exception with MS (as you know from when you rang to update them) so does the VAT man when buying 0 rated vehicles which bodes well for you medical, Let me know how it goes, good luck.

oh it's not dla tomorrow that runs out in June, it's esa tomorrow.

they wouldn't take a diagnosis over the phone yet dla did.
they wanted proof, but with moving within weeks of diagnosis of MS last year i didn't get around to sending them consultant letters from then.

although they did write to old gp a few weeks ago, from my old esa50 (not the current one) as it looks like she didn't respond or said she is no longer my gp they need proof.
