Only being offered partial refund due to freebie

Options
I recently bought a TV at Comet which was faulty. Some people on here may have read my original post. They would not immediately refund unless their engineer inspected it. This has happened and the fault is confirmed.

They will now not refund the full 499 as they offered a free wall bracket at 60 quid. They are only offering to refund 439.

Surely the fact they gave the freebie is their fault and they should still refund the full amount. I am going to raise merry hell in there tonight but before I do, I would like to know the thoughts of anybody else on here.

Thanks folks.

They can't charge you for something that was free, but if the wall bracket was free WITH the television, then just give it back, and they'll have to give you a full refund.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Agree with the others - what use is the bracket without the tv?

Who told you they wont give you a full refund? Staff/Manager?Head Office? Have you refused to give them the bracket back? Presumably it was only free because you purchased the tv.
  • yea, it came free with the telly. was perhaps planning to put another telly on it, but perhaps not. will just take the thing back i reckon, raise merry hell, vent my spleen, embarrass them and start my facebook site, 'Don't shop at Comet'!
