Citroen C3 screen washer problems

  • Seriously, you want to complain about this?

as others have said put a strong mix of screenwash in. and/or keep a sports cap water bottle in the car with water and screen wash in it and put the window down and spray it.

or you could install a heater element in the washer bottle that you can switch on when its frozen.

we're to used to having everything done for us and always needing someone to complain to aren't we?

Yes seriously I think some complaining should be done because mine failed last week and again this week, but replacing the fuse this time has had no effect, and all this on a 2 month old car!!

This is obviously a design fault and someone somewhere should be thinking of a rectification because driving without screen washer jets is very dangerous

Also from the first time I filled the washer bottle up I always done the mix approx 50:50 !!!!

So you diluted the screenwash by adding 50% water and you are now blaming the car maker because they freeze up?

    Words fail me.

It does make you wonder how the human race ever made it this far!

A 50:50 dilution is way too much in this weather for most concentrates. The last lot I bought was only good to -5 degrees undiluted so I didn't dilute it at all!
  • Apparently do not attempt to use the washers when they're likely to be frozen because the minute you do the fuse will blow. Difficult to know when they are ready to wash and of course if you forget and twist the lever for the back washer and it's already on then that's it blown it! Never known this on any previous cars but there you go. I'm on my second fuse since Christmas and the local (Luton, Beds) Citroen Service Centre will fit free of charge with the fuse costing £1.00. I would try and fit myself but it looks a bit complicated for a blonde! I'm going to put in a tad more washer wash than normal.
I've had mine replaced twice - 1st time they charged just short of £10 2nd time I said I wasn't paying. The mechanic said there was TOO MUCH SCREEN WASH IN MY MIX (said it was too blue) and that it was frozen. Someone on face-book said when you turn the ignition on, one of the things (some) citroens do, is, the washer motor comes on a sec (maybe its like a priming thing, maybe its a systems check) but as the water is frozen and the pump cant turn, the fuse blows, I tried it this morning after checking that the liquid was defrosted but no joy. but it had probably blown last time I started the engine (even though I didn't use the screen was)
  • dealership won't help - anyone know the email address of citroen CEO?

Possibly he meant too little, you cannot have too much, 100% of the correct type, would be ideal in these conditions.

I cant believe you are going to pursue this with the CEO - stop being a plonker and use the correct screen-wash concentration.
  • use the correct concentration

    its not rocket science
