Is there still a bit of north/south divide when it comes to Yorkshire puds? I don't know anyone who doesn't eat them, we have them at least once a week, but we love yorkies and would have them with anything!
SunnyGirl, here's a recipe for Raspberry vinegar, it looks very easy, I may even try it myself!

Thanks for the link I'll give it a go as they were very tasty eaten that way. I've often wondered if there's a divide over Yorkies too. I've lived all over the country - as far south as Devon & here in Manchester in the north - but a lot of this time was when I was a child so I didn't pay much attention to cooking matters :rotfl: A lot of people only have them with roast beef whereas I was brought up to have them with nearly every roast meal and savoury mince dishes too. I love them though!zippychick wrote: »Thanks Sunnygirl! That's great. In return - Raspberry vinegar
So if you are making the one with the sausages , do you put oil in with the sausages ?
When would you suggest adding water/beer? I would try a "normal" batter first, then deviate once I know i can do the basics. It's so exciting.
I'll happily have yorkies with curry, but then I am a little odd that way! Love the idea of freezing in ice cube shapes. Think i will do that tonight . Could you cook from icecubes then, so you would just put the ice cube straight on the hot oil?
So many questions!
Don't worry about the questions it's the only way we all learnI've never tried adding sparkly water/beer but I would make the batter as I needed it rather than let it stand for too long if I used it.
With sausages I only put a tiny bit of oil in the tin, to stop the Yorkies sticking, as they make enough oil of their own.
I've never frozen them as there is never any left but I also liked the idea of freezing bags of Yorkie pudding cubes. It would make life much easier if they could just be dropped into hot oil from the freezer. I'll have to have an experiment and see!0 -
Brill info there, thanks Sunnygirl! I liked the idea of freezing them in the muffin tin shape, but i dont think my muffin tin would fit in my freezer .
Will report back later providing i have enough energy to clean and cook yorkies! I'm just so clueless as i said I didn't even know what they were until recently.
Oh! Also do you use plain flour I assume?A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I always use plain flour for yorkshire pudding. The equal quantities *by volume* of everything works fine for me - always light and crispy :T0

Hehehe...it was my first ever online handle - probably 12 or so years ago. At the time, I was desperately hunting for a name that hadn't already been registered and I was Mags and (then) I did have a cat...well, the rest is history
ETA : Yay for excellent yorkshire puds!!:T0
