NTL for free

I have been with NTL on their fastest rate for over 3 years now and decided to change to plusnet as it was £16 per month cheaper for their 2mb Premier pack. I call NTL to cancel and was offered 3 months half price, which I thought they might try. I declined this offer as I told the lady I conldn't be bothered to have to go through this again in 3 months time. Her next offer was 12 months free with no new commitment! I only have BB from them so they have just given me £455.88 discount and they will not be making a penny from me. No onder they are in financial trouble.

That is a really good offer....I accepted their £9.99 per month offer straight away...now I wish I had bargained with the adviser! I made the call about 11.30am today...if only I waited till now I could have been laughing!!

wazza,
You are indeed correct to assume it is a 12 month contract for the £9.99 offer, but this is only for new customers. As I am already at the end of my 12 month contract, I have been offered a no-commitment deal for £9.99 pm. In effect I can cancel anytime with 30 days notice...which got me thinking whether I should phone up NTL again and see if I can get anything close to what cbrookes managed to get

Yes, I am with NTL BB at the moment and that is why they offered a no-commitment contract. I don't think they would class you as an existing customer (not for BB anyway!). But, you never know, it's always worth a try

I thought I would try my luck with NTL to see what they would offer me, I have their 3MB broadband @ £37.99. I called their 'customer retention' line 08000520243 and told them I was considering moving to Bulldog and quoted them their current offer. The NTL guy offered to reduce my 3MB to £18.99/ month for 12 months, this offer was duly accepted , £228 saved over the next 12 months for a 2 minute call, result.0
