I have an enormous bunch of lavender I picked from the garden today, has anyone any ideas as to what I could do with it apart from just putting it in a vase? It smells divine! When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0

Found these on the net as well - the vinegar is suggested for use on your skin but neat I think that it would be very interesting for salad dressings etc!
I have seen recipes in the past where lavender was infused in milk or cream which was then used to make ice cream (using a vanilla ice crem recipe) but I can't find the details just at the moment.Cosmetic

Lavender vinegar; Fill a wide-mouthed jar with lavender flowers and stems, pour cider vinegar over flowers, cap. Shake once a day for two week, keeping vinegar in the refrigerator. Strain vinegar into a sterilized bottle through a coffee filter lined funnel.
To use; Lavender vinegar is excellent for itchy skin. When bathing add 1 cup of vinegar to the bath water. As a facial wash; fill sink basin with warm water, add 1/8 cup of herb vinegar to the water. Wash face as usual.

Spoon 4oz. blackberry jelly into a double boiler. Heat until jelly is warm, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add 2 T. of fresh lavender flowers or 1 T. dried (rinse lavender and pat dry) to the jelly. Let infuse 1 hour, mashing the lavender with a wooden spoon occasonally. Strain through a cheesecloth lined funnel, squeezing the cheesecloth to strain jelly from the lavender, into a sterlized jar. Keep refrigerated.

You could hang some by the back door to keep flys and moths out!
Could you dry it and then make little pouches to go in your drawers so they'll smell all lovely and lavender-y!

Lavender ice-cream is gorgeous!
There's an ice-cream shop in Sheringham, north Norfolk, run by the coxswain of the local lifeboat, wher you can buy the most delicious ice-creams, including Norfolk lavender. It has bits of flowerheads in it.0 -

You can make lavender sugar, I think you just put some in with sugar and leave it, then you can use it in cakes etc. I've never tried to make it myself but I've had it in cakes and biscuits and it's quite nice!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
