    I think you need to look at January and February together. If it goes down this month it wont in February and if it doesnt go down this month it will in February.

    I would take a stab at it staying the same today and going down in February. Two drops in two months (Dec and Jan) could be seen as rash.

  • I think there will be a quarter point cut certainly either this month or Feb, but if I was to give an opinion I think retail figures above all else will still be fresh in the minds of the MPC, and hence I think it will happen today.
  • I think they will hold then drop next month too, they've got their report coming out in feb and they can use that as another excuse. Although I do hope for a cut

    the interesting thing will be the CPI on tuesday. see where its gone up to to see what the likelyhood is of a cut next month
