Self-Select ISA to Shares Only ISA ??

I have a Self-Select ISA with IDEALING.COM but want to move to ISIS where I have a traditional Shares Only ISA (they are for different tax years).
Can I do this and keep my ISA status even though I am going from Self_select ISA to Shares Only ISA?
Would I do this by Selling my shares and keeping the money in the Self-Select and then transferring the money to ISIS (Does this maintain my ISA status?)?

a shares only and self select ISA are the same thing.
I am going to make the assumption that twins_2_Be is referring to a equity ISA (for unit trust/OEIC funds) as he wants to transfer them to Friends provident/ISIS.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
