I am in the middle of changing my mortgage from the Halifax to C+G they are charging me £175 fee I don't know if this what was quoted (approx 2-3 years ago).

Does anyone know if this is higher than it should be and if it is should I tell Halifax now or after the mortgage has moved?

    Thanks in advance.

Also looking forward to writing to previous mortgage companies asking for the money back, does anyone have a link to a letter that I could edit and send keeping in mind I do not know what I was charged and if it was higher than quoted.

    £175 sounds right.

Lenders are definitely now charging the right MEAFs. They are required to do so by the FSA. The claims relate to MEAFs charged in the past.
