It's a well known fact that earlier in your life you own your home, better the prospect at your retirement age (i.e. no mortgage or rent to pay).
This is a universal truth in every country.
There are few exceptions though, for example if you want to sell your home in UK and move to a place which has much less cost of living (eg. Asia/Africa) after retirement.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
You're very kind.
Oops. Contradicted myself.
Ok, I am bothered if you agree with me but don't care if you don't. Is that clear.
No you are I think right, OH works for goldman sachs and there is research available ( not to me sadly but private clients) thats proves your view. I have heard of Guardian research but couldn't find it.0 -

Hi :hello:
back to the overcrowding issue I do think it has gone up and there is a strong link to immigration.
A colleague who recently sold her btl 2bed flat rented it to a married couple with a 16 year old son. apparently part way into the tenancy their elder daughter came on holiday but didnt return nepal?
next door to us the LL sold house to a first timer LL (2bed hse with 2 receptions) her brother and partner live in one room a mother and baby live in another room and another person lives in another room - so no living room.. my brothers girlfriend has who lives in a studio it seems the neighbour next door has sublet his studio to 3 women and their children all under the age of 3 (now how that works I have NO idea!) all these cases are in South East London so clearly it IS happening. the first 2 cases are in a borough that last year reported a lower population than early 2000's. I think all it is, is that the number of those people registered officially as living in the borough has dropped and those NOT officially registered as living in the borough has increased at a greater rate. I suggested Bro's girlfriend report whats happening next door as its a health hazzard having so many people living in such a small space.:j Where there is a will there is a way - there is a way and I will find it :j0
