Paypal Question

Probably a stupid question, but.... Been using ebay for a few years and my paypal account has just basically held money from items sold and paid for any items bought. I have just sold a futon this week and have just made my first transfer to my bank account. My only worry is that it has 'unconfirmed' against my account. From what I read on their help files you can get them to send 2 small amounts to your account and then validate to add security. Is it right that you only really need to do this if you want to add money from your current account to your paypal account? I guess my main question is will the transfer I have just organised work ok now? (and I can do the added security bid at a later date)
