cheapest uk payg wap from usa

my girlfriend who lives in the usa has been getting some hefty bills from all the text messages she sends me. When i was there last I managed to istall smsbug on her mobile but her provider (t mobile usa) wont let her access it. I intend to send her a uk phone with a pay as you go sim card so she can use smsbug and I can top up her account from here. I have a tesco sim card I was going to use, they said it costs £8 for 8mb of wap useage, how many messages could you send with 8mb? surely this is a lot?

wouldnt it still be cheaper for her to use a uk card due to the amount of data being sent with 1 text?

Try Vyke instead, which costs 2 US cents per message, and maybe send a Virgin UK SIM which is the same 0.5p/kB when roaming; about 2k is used per message.
