  • Thanks for info

Still not quite clear about the 'browsing' ability - given small display and remote control.

Seems there is not much useful doc supplied either ?
Does this review, match your experience ?

Any sign on a "homemusic' manual on line ?

Pinnacle don't seem to be able to get their act together on this
The 'homemusic' manual link on this page goes to the full product and not the 'homemusic' one
And the "All Manuals" link on this page seems to go to a dead FTP server

    Hi Bob

Browsing is really simple. First of all you choose either the internet radio, or music held on your computer. When you browse the radio the first thing it does is scan all the available stations. It takes 30 seconds and always comes up with more than 6000 stations. Then you can browse by station name, genre of music played, country of origin or language spoken. These stations are stored alphabetically and you can scroll through quickly or slowly. When browsing through music on your PC, you have the options of album, artist, genre, title or composer, otherwise it's much the same. You can choose to play the playlists you have created in iTunes too, and save up to 18 presets on the remote control.

I read the review you linked to and I feel the reviewer is being slightly harsh. To be fair, the menu structure is not the easiest in the world to navigate, and the documentation is not perfect but I find it satisfactory. You are right about there not being a user manual on the website but they do supply on on the accompanying CD. I can email you a copy if that helps?

All in all it's not perfect but I think it's cheap enough to overlook its misgivings. We've got used to it now and it sounds great in our kitchen!

    Hope this helps

    Marty.
  • Just to say, after all the questions, I bit the bullet and got one of the SoundBridges.

It's a very clever bit of kit, esp for the money.
Plug it in, set the wifi key, it calls home to upload the latest f/w.
    Bosh! - Internet radio working.
Install firefly media server, nice low footprint s/w, scans your music folders, and then it all available vie the remote control, very easy to browse by artist, title, genre etc
Really can't go wrong at this price

Also box and manual now say it supports WEP and WPA - earlier post indicated WEP only - though I'm using WEP so can't confirm ?

pick the pc up and carry it with you, very cheap option

Why do people make such childish suggestions in these forums? It's obvious that if you knock a few holes in the walls and ceiling the sound would carry around the house.
