Hi,
I wonder if anybody can point me in the right direction for this;
i now have a lot of music on my pc, but would like to be able to hear it in other rooms in the house. Short of turning up the volume v v high, is there a system which i can plug into the back etc?
At the moment i have a non ipod mp3 player, so dont really want to go down that route, and did see a system for several hundred pounds over xmas that would seem to do it, but just wondered if there was a cheaper way to plug something in the back and have specialised speakers throughout the house.
Many thanks

If you wired it up properly it is perfectly possible to connect your PC to any speaker system.
Try googling "connect PC to stereo" to see how easy that is and if you're confident to drill holes through the walls there is no reason why you couldn't connect as many speakers as you liked.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
do you want to be able to *control* the music from other rooms, or just hear it?0

Search for wifi radio
example http://www.revo.co.uk/digital-radio/revo-pico-wifi.php
other makes are available0 -
pick the pc up and carry it with you, very cheap option0
-
check out http://www.orb.com
They have free software to stream media from your PC to a number if different devices. Basically most devices that cam be connected to a network, games consoles etc.
Alternatively buy one of the FM transmitters that people use for iPods and then just tune the FM radio in your room to the right frequency.0 -
Not the cheapest, but if you have a wi-fi network, one of the best streaming devices is the Roku SoundBridge.0
-
Or the Squeezebox range from Slimdevices:

Very similar to Roku, I believe. If you can buy from the States you will pay much less than here.0 -
Cheapest option will to be hard wire a speaker.
Or try the wifi option as mentioned or how about this, bluetooth speaker.
http://shop.ipodworld.co.uk/iPodWorldSite/search/Bluetooth%20stereo.htmMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
If you have an ordinary radio in all the rooms, the you can use a FM tramsmitter plugged into your sound card0
