I don't believe that the three contestants got their MEAF refund in under 5 minutes without either some preliminary set up before the programme or the banks were tipped off that it was going to be televised. In my experience 5 mins would be quite good just to get the phone answered, let alone find the right person to speak to and get satisfaction. Am I just unlucky?

    Oh my Goodness.

    Its TV.

Of course there was probably some preliminary set up first.

    Thats how TV works.

It probably could easily be done in 5 - 15 minutes but obviously the program is only 30mins long and they do this little thing called 'preperation' first.

    Money deserves respect & decorum?

Sorry but that comment makes me do this > laughing-smiley-014.gif

Its a television program. Its there to grab peoples attention as quickly as possible & to cram in as much moneysaving advice as possible.

Sitting at a desk just spouting it all out nice and calmy wouldn't have the same effect.

Plus thats not really Martins style now is it?

    Martin. Calm. Desk. Sitting.

Nope, they dont work in the same sentence me thinks :)

It was upbeat and lively to grab peoples attention and get them thinking.
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

Gave up on Coronation St years ago. I watched it and even my husband got off his computer to watch too  Loved the show as there's something for everyone on there - love to know who the comper and the lady who did the tips were though - their names on here I mean? I sat there happily nodding as the comper was saying how family members can be negative .... (or words to that effect) to begin with, until the prizes start to roll in :D

Darn it, the phone rang halfway through the programme - does anyone know if it's going to be repeated later in the week?

What I saw was good value for a lot of folk, hope there are some tips on how to make ends meet on a day to day basis for us pensioners, I've exhausted the ones on the site!

I was there in the audience and it genuinely happened there, they went out at a break and came back within few minutes with the sorted issue and the promise of refund.

My husband has done mortgage charge refunds in less than 5 minutes and I have done bank charges refunds in less than 5 minutes.

Also I honestly believe Martin to be completely straight up and if it took longer what would be the point in lying about it, the people got their money and if it had taken 3 hours or 3 minutes they still got their money so what would be the point in lying?

Ps I thought the show was fantastic, and have just text my friends who always ask me how I know the deals I do, to tape it and watch it every week. Well done Martin!!! And of course Olz

Really enjoyed the show. Although as an MSE addict I knew the subjects covered.

The style of the show was pure Martin. The fast talking, in your face, listen to me style is what gets your attention. Even if not watching the TV I know if he has come on screen just by hearing his voice. And the striped shirts are also part of his trademark by which he will become more well known. Just like Robin Day and his Bow Tie.

I think the succes of the show is shown by the fact that this evening at 8.17 pm there were the greatest number of forum users online, 8814. Also 6,700 people have signed up for the e-mail today. (Need a few more before I win this years competition though- Champagne received today, Thank You).

But Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee?!! Oh pleeeeease!! Never again!!

Seats for the audience would have been good. I spent half the time trying to figure out the MSE names for the audience. Anyone like to identify themselves? ALso the interviewees?

And by the way, was that the MSF presenting the weather just before the show started?
