hi guys put this on my machine last night... laptop is new so totally clean but it seems to slow up programs, icons on toolbar and internet explorer ie 3 or 4 clicks before it allows you in to it
when i hover over the icon it says resident 58980 processes blacklisted.
anyone else find same
also when close all programs and shut down the system it always comes up with the ie.explorer closing application... 2 or 3 times as if there are programs still open

I've got it installed but only use it for occassional on demand scans. Are you running it in the background all of the time? It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

You only installed the program last night and you have obviously not pressed F1, read the tutorial and learned how to use it to your advantage. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I've used this but have deleted it a long time ago- I just use Adaware now and an occasional kaspersky scan.0

been up most of the night and familiar with the help pages.. but it slows down the laptop, trying to find a way of disabling it so it is not always running...
surprised conflicts also when no programs open and trying to close down as if there are still things open0 -

Are you using any other security software that could be conflicting with Spybot? I have used the program for years and never had any problems with it. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

put on super anti syware as well but that does not run all the time...
WEE PROBLEM.
uninstalled spybot and all i am getting is ie.explorer closing down ... end now and everytime i do this says not responding
disconnected battery and system back to itself.......
ok have free avg and super antispyware for occasional scans...
are there any out there that compliment avg in the background without spybot0 -
I would be very surprised if it was spybot causing the problem. Where did you download from.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0

I agree with others.
I have used this for years on various OS platforms with no issues.
I'm guessing you must have gone in to advance mode if the system is running all the time as by default it is set to 'No automation' under the system startup otpions.
Mode>Advnaced Mode>Settings>Settings>System Start
if you want to check.Regards,
Dave
If only I had a pound for every time I used the thanks button

Sound like something definitely running in the background. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and have a look in the task manager which process is using the most resources. You should be able to tell from there if it is Spybot.
I must say tho I have Spybot on my system for a few years without any problem but I cannot recall ever having it running constantly in the background.
Check your AVG as this used to scan in the background everytime I started up which slowed my system down & was a bit tricky to shut off, which is one of the reasons I switched to Avast which I think if far superior & free still!0
