I agree that you should put in writing the history of the faults and repairs to the bed.  State this is the final chance to correct the fault else you will sue them for the cost of replacing the faulty bits.  To back this up I would contact another Pine manufacturer and ask them the cost of making new posts for your bed.  This is the amount you will sue them for.

Well, after these posts I did indeed send a letter to the firm, but heard nothing.

Since then noticed the cracks getting wider again SO yesterday rang them up and spoke to the guy who has been out to fix it three times.

Explained that I wasnt happy as it was happening again and really wanted a replacement and that, although it may be out of guarantee, this wasnt fair as had I known it would be an on-going problem would have asked for a replacement in the first place.

Unlike normal I was very calm and polite to him, not ranting and raving.

Today he has rung back - he spoke to the manager who has agreed we can have a straight swap for a new bed!!! ;D
