They are antispyware links, av doesn't catch everything.

The instructions with it should tell you how to do restore, usually by hitting a key on boot on a Dell, or using the recovery dvd, but, if you aren't getting any popups, then uninstalling messenger plus and or avg catching it may have killed it.

ok messenger plus deleted just ran avg again and found nothing all clear.

    there are 2 restores .

    system restore

or pc restore by symantec this will restore hard drive to the way it was when 1st purchased

what you reckon ??? you reckon laptop is clear now?

what you suggest i run with avg from one on your list?

I'd do a scan with at least one of them, just to check.

I have all of them installed, they all work in different ways, so cast a large net.
I don't know how others do it, but I tend to run them in rotation.
Depending on PC usage, I run one every couple of days.
This way each one scans PC every 8/10 days.

Also don't forget CCleaner, DON'T install yahoo toolbar.

ok superantispyware is scanning as we speak..... get back to you in mo.

if i did do the full restore back to original hard drive when i received it this morning ... how does this delete anything harmful... surely if that was the case everyone would do it the minute they got virus warning

on my other 2 pc s i run free avg on its own....... no probs... will these new problems not conflict???

all this due to messenger plus and allowing the pop ups

One AntiVirus, One Firewall, but you can install multiple antispyware, in fact I think it's a good idea, because as I said earlier they work in different ways and so have differing strengths and weaknesses.

Sounds ok, you'll soon know if you have a lop infection.

I'd run some of the antispyware stuff on the other pc's, in case you have anything lurking.
