... I bought a Sony Ericsson W950i off someon on eBay because I wanted a good phone for mobile TV. They said it was unlocked but it's not, it's locked to Orange. I'm on O2 but I've got an Orange sim card so I can get Sky. Firstly, I need to unlock it - does anyone know a free way or do I have to send it off somewhere? Also, secondly, I can't get on the 3G network so it won't let me watch Sky. Does anyone know if this is a common problem and what to do etc? Ta

no free way for any SE phone. afaik the symbian (p-series, m-series, w950i and the w960i) SE phones are harder to unlock0

you won't get it on orange 3g until it is unlocked in a shop/market stall (there is no free remore code way to do it)Ex forum ambassador

why is it that I can't get on the 3G network though? They advertise Sky Sports on their website and on Sky it says that it's available on Orange...0

this may sound like a really silly question but is your orange sim card a 3g one?The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

I don't know - it's just a pay as you go one (one of the free ones - ordered it last week!)0 -
that won't be a 3g one then!!
you need a 3g sim to be able to use 3g services on a 3g handset. if you only have a 2g handset you will be able to use the phone but not any of the 3g service on itThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

i'm not sure if you can get 3g sims on PAYG, it may be worth phoning orange or going into the orange shop, if they do them doubt you will get a free oneThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:
