I did think about that quidsin, but on balance I thouht he'd need something in his tum, he's not quite 5 months old yet and is still a very hungry (and growing) pup.0

Tinned mackerel mashed into some rice or potato should be fine. It's actually very good for their coat and skin (in small doses). Tomato sauce is fine, but not tinned fish in oil, that usually goes straight through them. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0

Dogs have evolved with humans to eat many of the same foods unlike wolves.
But on no account feed you dog
- Raisons (even a handfull could make them very ill and destroy thier kidneys),
- Onions (The high sulpher levels causes the dogs blood cells to implode)
- Chocolate (A chemical called theobromide is very toxic to dogs)so says another ordinary mug fighting the 1% who own the political machine grinding them down from on high...

I didnt know about onions being bad for dogs! are cooked ones ok? my mut often has the scrappings off our plate mixed with his main meal (he loves it as a treat now & then) but I'm now thinking it might be a bad idea....I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
Thanks everyone for all the advice. I know that's what this site is all about but I really do appreciate it when you all come to my rescue.
Anyway, I gave Harley rice and tinned mackerel for breakfast and needless to say he wolfed that down too. I think I may have one of those 'dustbin dogs' on my hands, lol. No upset tum at all.
I got a huge bag of Burns food today so he's back to boring dog food again.I could swear he was glaring at me. :rotfl:

You can order Burns online and if you order 15kg you dont pay delivery charges. Sure it is cheaper than the vet. Being a dried food it last very wel. I always order from the Burns website,it arrives two days after you order it.0

We use Burns and we actually spoke to John Burns at Crufts last year, he said he likes to support the local pet shops and only supplies them, also the prices are set the same where ever you buy Burns from ( maybe vets excluded).0 -
I just checked the Burns website, our vet sells it for exactly the same price which I'm pleasantly surprised about.0

Mine gets pasta and gravy as a treat or when he's run out of food."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
