Sammy is taking his/her special needs son with.. the Tube is not wheelchair friendly but you're right about the bus. For 90p each (with Oyster, or 2 pounds each cash), you could catch the 46 bus which will take you directly from Paddington to Swiss Cottage

I suggest you telephone your hotel and ask their advice about transport. They should be able to book a minicab for you, which would save you having to queue for a taxi at Paddington and might well cost a bit less as well.0

Queue for a taxi at paddington? There's a constant line of black cabs there. If you pre-booked, you'd only have to run around trying to find the right taxi.
I've never known a hotel to get you the best price for anything.0 -
Well, given the trip is a competition prize and the travel to London is free... I'd say "What the Heck" and get a cab
