Usborne Books

Options
Hi,

I've just searched and can't find a thread for Usborne Books selling advice/tips:confused: Are there any experienced sellers out there who are finding this beneficial?

I've had a look on their website, but without getting the welcome pack it doesn't seem you can get much info (unless my tired brain deceives me )

Is the welcome pack enough to start you off properly? How much time do you need to devote or is it entirely up to you? Do you get commission per book sale? Is there a minimum order amount? What's there returns policy?

That's all the questions that spring to mind.... for now anyway :rotfl:

Thanks xx

    Hi,

    Im interested in this.

To those that already do it, how does it work? Is it door to door sales?

    Hi

I have looked into this a while ago, i was told you can go door to door but usually you sell through friends and relatives, and open mornings, home parties etc.
The only thing putting me off was there seems to be lots of people already doing it, in fact everyone i spoke to said they already buy from someone.
We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!

I dont know anyone that does it round here but then none of my friends have children so wont need books and only my 2 sisters would probably buy some but not enough to keep me going.

  • Hi,

Welcome packs or information packs are something us organisers have put together to recruit others and are not available on the website so if anyone is interested then contact me and i can e-mail you one.

Don't be put off that others are already doing it in your area where i am there are lots of us and some of us have become good friends and pass events on we can't do.

I don't sell by going door to door not sure if that would work i go to toddler groups, coffee mornings, fairs, schools, leisure centres, book parties etc and set up my books and take orders. There are loads of places to go you just have to be creative sometimes.

I don't have alot of freinds with children and even if i did it like you say wouldn't be enough. I just keep an eye out in the paper for events and toddler groups.

There is no right or wrong way to do it really, when you join you get your starter kit and this has some sample books in which you take to events to show people then you take orders and deliver it. And that is it! I have now got boxes and boxes of books!! None of which i have paid for as the company runs an incentive in your first 3 months to help you build your kit!

    Hope this all makes sense.

Any questions i am more than happy to help.

    Lou

    Hi
I have to agree with Lou - I've only been doing Usborne since last Easter and I've found it really simple to get started.

I did it cos I'd moved to a new city, kids at school and I wanted to get out and meet people. Mostly I sell to other mums at 'parties' but also playgroups, brownies and I find I get a few orders from just handing the catalogues out for people to look at.

I haven't found any downsides yet. The accounts side of things is relatively simple particularly if you can do everything online which really helps. I've also found it really helpful to get to know organisers near to me in case I have questions or on the odd occasion that I need some help with something - everyone has been really friendly.

Just a reminder for certain posters on this thread.

    ADVERTISING

This site is free from advertising. Posts on any board considered to be advertising goods, services and/or companies will be removed. We also do not allow advertising via PM

Examples of this can include anything from a specific sales post or a link to your own website in which you attempt to sell something to someone offering their holiday home to forum members. Unfortunately we cannot allow any advertising of any description no matter how honourable the intention.

This includes the Referrals Board (see below).

    REFERRAL POSTS

Posts from which site users gain are permitted only on the Referrers Board. This includes links to rpoints etc threads. Any posted elsewhere will be moved to the Referrers Board. Links to the referrals board from the main forums are not allowed.

This also includes members saying "Please PM me for code" or "check my post on referrers". The overriding rule is that no advertising is allowed on the main forums

I don't like deleting posts which have helpful information for others, can you please refrain from the feeding frenzy of finding a new potential team member?
