  • I do think if there's any way at all you can do it, a quick pop in to the hospital would be a really good thing to do. Just to let her know you're available more than anything. Even if it's only to give her a quick hug and tell her you're thinking of her. If you are sort of her surrogate mum in her shoes I'd really like to see you....

Sorry not meaning to put you under more pressure but no matter what the visit will be hard and I think you'd be best getting in earlier ....

I hope it all works out for her .... can't imagine what this must be like...

    So far so good :D :j :D
She was delivered this morning at 11.22 and weighed in at 1lb 10oz bless her,I didn't think that was a bad weight considering!
Have seen photos and she's gorgeous :A and the best news of all is they think she's 'only' got problems due to her premature birth that is the lungs/breathing..
She's currently on a respirator and had fluid removed from around the lungs earlier to help her breath easier and the lungs to inflate..all has gone as well as it can do so far.Mum and Dad are so brave they are doing really well considering..Thankfully her Mum's over so she's been up there today for support and I've seen Dad and spoke to Mum on the phone.

that is a really good weight! My son at 27wks was 2lbs1. Am so glad she's ok just now. I expect though the hospital will tell them that it will be a rollercoaster ride, with good days and bad etc, i can still remember it all nearly 6 yrs on! Please let us know how they are all doing, my heart goes out to them and the little fighter. Its great they have such a caring friend who wants to be there for them, however scary. x

d&dd that is good news, if you could keep us posted. To be honest I'm not sure there is anything you can do, as parents we feel helpless when things like this happen. The best thing is as others have said to be ther. If you could try and get to the hospital to visit her that would probably be good as hospitals are the most boring place in the world when there is nothing to do and coud do with someone to take your mind off things.
Just try to be positive. The same happend to DS2 he stopped growing at 30wks, we didn't find out until 34wks. He was born at 36wks and although was small was ok. He is now a healthy but slightly small 5yr old, even though he eats me out of house and home.

I am crying, but it is such great news.

Whatever happens, remember that she has given birth. Celebrate this.

A friend of mine recently lost her baby at 10 days, and all everyone wanted to do was talk about her death - all my friend wanted to do was talk about her birth and the 10 wonderful days they managed to spend together.
