UK Online 35 day connection wait....

I have just signed up with UK Online but a few minutes after I was told it would be 7 working days I recieved an e-mail telling me there are delays and it will now be 35 working days.
It seems like a bog standard e-mail and I know from another thread that quite a few other people have recieved it so what i'm wanting to know is how long are the ACTUALLY taking to connect new customers??
Anyone who recieved this e-mail been connected quicker then the 35 days????

That does sound a long time - has your exchange already had broadband switched on ? If it has, then I would go back to ukonline and ask them why there is a 7 week delay and who is responsible. If you are already BB enabled, then the delay is likely to have been caused by BT being very busy in your area.
Good Luck

I know UKOnline had a lot of people join them recently on thier LLU services. They have doubled thier customer base since the cheap LLU service went live. My mate however got the 35 working days e-mail and was connected in 8 working days.0

Blimey 35 DAYS! I thought I was going to be suffering no broadband for 7 to 10 days(that's what Plusnet's email advised me) when I changed from Pipex to Plusnet! As it turned out it was only a 2 day turnaround :money: ! Pipex adsl ended on the 10th and Plusnet kicked in on the 12th..I'm not sure who to thank for that BT or Plusnet but I'm very happy anyway
.
PS: I was considering going to UKOnline too but my exchange wasn't 8mb enabled as yet and their 2mb price was dearer than Plusnets.0 -
I signed up with UK Online in April.
Waited 2 weeks, then got the email to say it would be a further 35 days.
Waited for 8 weeks in total, got fed up so phoned to see what was going on.
They looked into my order and said they still had no information on when they would be able to connect me - capacity issues at my exchange apparently.
So i cancelled and signed up with PlusNet. Still waiting for connection (only 5 working days so far), but Plus.Nets online support and order status log etc are already far superior to anything I saw from UK-"Online".
Just wish I'd cancelled UKOnline earlier rather than paying for dial-up all this time.0
