    Yes, you should have asked here before you went ebay carazy(sic). ;)

    Brand new 512MB DDR PC RAM is around 15 pounds delivered. That would have brought you to a respectable 768MB, minus any reserved for graphics.

    It looks as if you purchased DDR SO DIMM memory (for laptops). Of course DDR2 is not compatible with a motherboard taking DDR.

    So, what did you have inside(according to Crucial)?
