Brother laser printer = cheap printing. Toner Price (Up to 2,500 A4 pages @ 5% coverage) £46.99 = 1.88p/page The entry level HL2030 printer (£69.99) should include a new toner cartridge for 2500 pages, thats a laser m/c for £23.990

The latest generation of canon printers have chipped cartridges which means it is a bit more complicated buying compatiables for as you will need to swap out the chip from the original. I searched far and wide for a nonchipped canon a few months ago but had to settle for chipped version(ip4300). I have not finished any cartridges yet as I only print out a couple of photos per week but I have discovered that it is very picky when it comes to photo paper. Good quality paper also costs a bomb sadly:mad:0

I've alway bought and recommended Epson for inkjet because the compatible cartridges were cheap and cheerful.
But over the past year or so I've noticed Epson have been selling the punter out and putting the heads on the cartridges.
As well as that, there seems to be any number of compatiblity problems with the compatibles (if you know what I mean).
So now you can buy and all in one Epson for 50 quid, but you might have to buy original cartridges to be sure of getting a cartridge that works.
My main reason for buying Epson was the cheap compatibles, but now I don't see them as any cheaper than HP, Canon or Lexmark.
Shame, they've shot themselves in the foot through greed.0
