Big hands in a small space it can be easy to loosen something. Ram should have the white clips holding them in place secure as in the picture posted there are no such clip on the sound card or graphics card. I wonder if a ribbon cable has been dislodged from the motherboard or hard drive. Id guess the grahics card is ok as you say the light is green.:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.

agreed sounds like its failing a post check, probably the RAM but could also be a lose wire or card - doubtful any data will have been lost so don't worry about that.
My guess would be that the new sound card has worked loose and its shorting a connection. Should be a push back in issue.
Do you feel confident opening the case up?0 -
Oh yes its easy to panic, normally over nothing but then if you know a little and you know where to look or ask for help someone will normally make it sound like it was over nothing, when you look and you dont see i am sure people here would be happy to help once again.
Best of luck:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.

If it was a loose HDD cable i dont think it would be posting a beep error code as strictly thats not a BIOS error.
I would probably attribute the error to the following:-
1. fan cable for the CPU could have come off, PC will not boot to prevent thermal damage.
2. As others have said, memory could have come loose in transit (it happens quite often).
3. If light is monitor green then I'd say graphics is OK.
*4. Or the obvious, as thats whats been changed - the soundcard not seated correctly.0 -
wabbit - yes I feel confident opening the case , I am a pretty fast learner but when I have instructions! lol

Reading up another thing to check is that the Keyboard is connected ok, it can be trickey being at the back of the pc, but this can do this too bad connection or bent pin, or in the mouse socket maybe if you dont see anything inside check this too.:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.
