Hmmm just a thought but they might enjoy Drayton Manor Park better, also there is a campsite right next door to Drayton Manor and it is easy to nip in and out of the park for picnic items.

If you are set on Alton Towers bear in mind that you would need to carry the picnic around the park with you all day.

http://www.starcaravanpark.co.uk/ this site is quite highly recommended through the club I belong to.

What about the travelodge offer? £9 a night. Look what ones are nearby.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D

I suggest Travelodge for cheap Hotels. The nearest (Uttoxeter) didn't have any of the £9 rooms but I managed to Book the Burton A38 Northbound (classy eh?) for £9.

BOGOF vouchers are normally very common on drinks bottles and in the shops so keep your eyes open in the summer.

You can use your tesco clubcard points to buy tickets too.

Remember you have to pay to park at Alton Towers.

I would not bother with Alton t. or Drayton, they are very good parks, but your children are too small. My youngest 9year old get bored in Alton because he can`t get on many rides (hight restriction) apart from the babish ones. how about Legoland or Chessington they are perfect age for those . We use travelodges for days out. They are basic, clean, but cheap.

I took my 4, 11 and 14 year old boys in October last year. We got a really good deal, think it was £99 for 2 days admission and one nights hotel with B and B.
Noticed they were offering good reductions on gate price of returning next day while we were at Alton Towers. My two eldest went off to do Air, Rita, Oblivion etc and met us for snacks.
My 4 year old adored the Peugeot cars were they drive them around pretend streets, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride and Duel (where you shoot the ghosts while sitting in the ghost train) - like the Buzz one in Paris.
He thoroughly enjoyed the break and said it was his best holiday ever.

We used the large onsite McDonalds for meals which I don't think was dearer than normal. Took a rucksack in with drinks.

Personally I preferred it to Disneyland Paris. Though it is worth looking at the map and planning your day.

We looked for Uttoxeter too, settled for Tamworth, 2 nights at £9 and 1 night at £19. 4 miles from the Snow Dome which looks good, 6 miles from Drayton Manor and about 35 miles from Alton Towers (will do either DM or AT not sure yet).

Will have too look out for offers for outings now.

I have stayed at the Tamworth Travelodge too. It's about 1 mile from my cousin's house and 2 mile from my Aunty and Uncle's, so it's quite convenient! lol.

Is it the ordinary club card points you can save toward Alton Towers? I don't do my main shopping in Tesco so not clued up about the points, get the odd voucher through now and again. If it's worth it though I might do my full shops there to get the points towards Alton Towers. Sainsburys gone very expensive.

yes if you look on the clubdeals site it will explain it, im thrilled as last year went to folly farm with them and this year am using them to go to alton towers, if you look on this site there is a link there to show how it works, just type tesco deals into the forum and see how you go.
