I've got a sealed tin as well, I only put in £2 coins or £1 coins. I've also got a jamjar which is full of change but I keep spending what's in there! If I could get in my sealed tin there would be nothing left in it so I'm really glad it's impenatrable (sp)! It cost £1 at poundland....................0

I have a huge whisky bottle from the local pub which I use for coppers (it's a real workout trying to shake them all out when it's full, my arms ached for a week afterwards), and an empty glass roses jar with a hole cut in the lid for silver. Despite having easy access into it I'm pretty good in terms of 'borrowing' from it although it rarely gets full nowadays before I bag it up and bank it - it will hold around £200 when full and it seems a shame for it not to be earning interest!1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0

I have a pickle jar for coppers, a big plastic coke can for £1, £2, 5p's and a can opener tin for 50p's 20p's 10p's.
I am saving them all for Christmas!
xxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Have a terramundi for my £2's - bought by OH for Xmas, a baby formula tin taped closed for the 2ps and 10ps, and a whiskey bottle for the 5ps, 1ps and 20ps..... I'm pleased to say that I have willpower, so I don't 'borrow' form them, but OH doesn't, hence the terr for the £2s'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0

I regularly pick up a tin from the pound shop as we tend to open my DD's one and put it into the bank for her every 4-6 months or so... she is the only one with any savings!!
I have a wooden pot that we both put coppers,5p's,10p's,20p's into and i use the silver for tuck shop money for Erin day to day... when the coppers/5ps equal baggable amounts then we bank them for her.
I'd love a terramundi as they are pretty but i don't have any spare money so couldn't imagine having big pounds sitting there when i had nothing in my purse til payday.I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
These are my money pots:rolleyes:
Smiley tin for £2 coins from £1 shop. Over £1000 last year.:D
Tom and Jerry tin for any free cash - lottery wins, selling stuff etc - from £1 shop.
Fat Piggy was originally a garden ornament from Tesco but OH drilled slot and hole to get money out £3 in summer sale. Holds all our silver coins. £500 in last year:D
Terramundi i got for xmas - my personal saving £5 notes (don't tell OH;) )
Little chicken was apressie as i really want chickens but can't have them here:mad: For £1 coins but this one gets raided for DD dinnermoney change.
Brown tub is a flour bin kept in kitchen for coppers.
Hope the page doesn't go all big, can't resize:oIf it does I will delete picture.

I have my grandad's wade tortoise money box. I remember him saving 20ps in it when I was quite small. This was big money then as 20p = 4/-!
I use it now for the money i pick up in the street, so far this year I have 5p.
I also have my 'sealed pot' for loose change, which will be opened and banked at the end of March. This is a giant 'coke' can in plastic which I bought in the 99p shop.
I bought my son one of those giant coke cans at christmas which I filled with his fave sweets haribo, mars bars ect, now the sweets are gone he's happy to use it as a money box instead of coins lying all over his bedroom. Mind you, mine was a pound so you got a bargain there!:D”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

DH is much better than me in saving his change he used and old metal Hugo Boss gift set box for everything 50p and under. He also uses my very expensive icebucket for £1 and £2 coins. He is counts it up and puts it in money bags every so often and we bankwhen there is about £100 or so in total. He is so good and I am not. Mainly because I need my change for parking for work. Sometimes I have to pay £15 for 1 day so need lots of coins. At least I can claim it all back from work.
