Have more people for Christmas dinner!
Normally there are 7 of us, but I cooked for 4 more this year and it was great! Everyone mucked in, more so infact that I got banned from the kitchen and my Dad, Uncle and Mum finished everything off! Great stuff!
I'll definitely won't leave buying cards until the last minute too, I don't mean boxed cards, I mean personal ones, which I have to buy heaps of, especially as I have 12 birthdays throughout December too.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Great thread!
I need to make sure I have a Christmas pudding here in case my husband is sick the weekend before Christmas and we can't collect the pud from my parents house (which I had made and it was our first Christmas at home and we didn't have Christmas pud at all!)
Not to buy so many chocs and biscuits especially as we were given loads and I'm meant to be going back on my diet!!
Not to buy presents for as many people! Bought for over 70 and decidedthis is just silly!! Especially as we don't get presents back from several of them and ome we get back are really awful!!! (How ungrateful am I !?)0 -
Mine is to buy no sweets, chocolates, biscuits at all! I got so many boxes from clients i'll be eating it all until Easter though it was very kind of everyone. Any house I've been visiting gets a box or tin of something!January budget

Not invite so many people over!
I ended up with different sets of relatives coming for meals on different days. Nobody helped out much, so I spent most of Christmas in the kitchen cooking for people and missed out on playing with the children.
Next Christmas I'm inviting us to their houses, so I can play at home instead of cookingHere I go again on my own....0 -
Escape - whenever I stay in UK, I end up being sick over Christmas - and the last Christmas was no exception! I don't like Christmas at home!!!!!!!
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

I got the Lakeland birthday book in the sale (although you could easily make one, I was just being posh!) and bought all the cards at Asda with sons discount card, and now they are all filed under each month ready to be sent off, FINALLY organised!! :j :jHonorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. I won't bother inviting my 2 daughters again - then they can't rub it in that they are having a 'nice family Christmas' with their dad - for the first time in 10 years (he's ignored them every other year) - and not tell me about it till the last minute.
We'll either spend it with the in-laws or go abroad, I think!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Aaagghhhh!!
Someone HAD to mention the C-word!
So far I think the only thing I will be doing differently is remembering to buy prezzies throughout the year when I see a bargain, that way I should be able to get everything at a good price rather than the last minute rush I usually end up in!!
And of course spend less this year...more for me!! :rotfl::rotfl:If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.
