Hi Miss Shoes, Good to see you back. I'm so sorry to hear about your granddad. My dad had a stroke recently, it's so heart-breaking isn't it? Luckily dad is making a good recovery. I hope your granddad gets better too.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Hi Missshoes & thanks again for being so nice about me;)
I posted on here regularly to keep myself on track when i was paying things off, it was great to update my signiture, even if I was just taking a few £s off of the debt. Every little bit adds up, instead of paying £25 off something, if you've got £28 pay it off, you'll only waste the other £3 on crap, if you haven't got it in your purse, you can't spend it!
Also perhaps join a few challenges, I post not as regularly as i did since the poop hit the fan, on Pap/Moozies what have you spent?, it really helps as I feel a bit ashamed to post on there if I spend too much, also it's great to be able to post that you've had a NSD ( no spend day )
Also don't beat yourself up too much you've had a lot to deal wih lately with your grandad & bereavement etc, all these things take it out of us.
You've now turned the corner think positive & in 18 months, maybe sooner, you will be posting on the Debtfree roll of honour & giving others advice as to what to do
Go for it!Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Hi MissShoes
I have just read the whole of your thread, it almost feels nosey!! When you sit and read something in one go. Anyway, just wanted to say, keep going and well done for coming back. It sounds to me like you have been doing better than you give yourself credit for, e.g. not spending £70 on a night out, not joining the gym, not adding to your credit cards. If you were still in denial (oh and how I loved that place, but love this reality place more) you would now be a member of the gym (and if anything like me not going enough, to justify the spend) have a bigger CC balance and would have probably had a hangover from the night out. or maybe not... but you know what I mean.
Good luck with the cleaning and keep posting.

hee, hee, ha ha. :rotfl:
It is for a doubly good cause, weight loss, stroke association BUT
in my honest debt free wannabee opinion though, £55 quid a month...... are there not cheaper ways... e.g. weekly class, walking/jogging with your gym buddy in the open air??!! Sorry.... please don't read this as a criticism, just a friendly question and a bit of devils advocate.
(Also probably jealousy, I would love to be a gym member again, but just cannot justify or afford it)

my debt was £1200 in feb and this site has helped me whip it down to £220!! i should be debt free by 1st oct
oh on the gym note sounds ok to me if you are going to try and make the extra cash and it includes a lot of stuff swims etc as long as you can get your monrys worth then it is worth it but as soon as you don;t seem to be using it much make sure you admit it and get shot i kept my membership way to long!!:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

Ooh Miss someone I can relate too re housework - mine gets done just before someone breaks their neck on all the crap!
So sorry to hear about your grandad and your student - life is pretty !!!!!! sometimes - hugs.
I echo what others have said about posting - it really gives you a good boost and an excuse to ignore the housework a bit longer! x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000
