I have few of these, ThermoPro sensors and can recommend them. Viewing historic data in the app is extremely useful and better than just viewing a snapshot look at the device.

OP specified WiFi enabled..

But they haven't confirmed how important that was, as opposed to wireless?

They said to thank you all for your replies.
Since Wi-Fi is essential to them they ordered "GoveeLife E-Ink Room Thermometer Hygrometer, with App Notification Alert" which should be delivered to them this week. They will see how they get on with them when they arrive.
They ordered these ones because they should be easy for them to set up, they should be able to view the temperature when they are not at home via Wi-Fi and if the electric was off due to storms etc. and they were at home they would still be able to see the temperature on the display.
This item seems to tick all the boxes for them so I am delighted. I just hope they work for them. Thank you for all your help!
