Can the pub ban me for something my husband has done?

I'd not noticed this final sentence in the original post.
"Is there anything I can do to get back at this pathetic man?"
I can sort of see your point.

Ahh, the village pub. A veritable hot bed of gossip, false information and folk with more faces than a town hall clock. Look on the bright side, if the pub is as bad as you say, they will gone in a couple of months anyway

It would seem more likely that Punch see you and the other who want to turn the pub into a Community Asset as more trouble than they are worth and don't want you in the pub. The licencee would just be the person made to fire the bullets.

Trouble is, the current tenants may be gone but the pub may be gone with them.
If it's not making money, and the Pubco can't find a tenant who thinks it can make money, they'll monetise that asset into a block of flats or a Sainsburys Local toot sweet.

If you've been recorded as banned, that may not change when the pub gets taken over… it's not uncommon for them to continue older bans to stop troublecausers coming back.
I'd leave the "pathetic man" alone, find somewhere else to socialise for now, and hope that by being quiet and undercover, it's not properly recorded as a ban and if the pub does reopen, you'll be able to go back.
It's quite possible that Punch are not thrilled at the idea of the pub becoming a community asset; though, it's not typical to approach the pub company until you've got or are very close to having the funds…Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
sounds personal and very much more to this story than what is being shared

The man is very odd, he admits himself he has not been inside the pub for 6 months, he lives and works elsewhere. He said to someone that he hates the village as we have " disrespected him". He seems determined to run down the pub so that is is totally useless, it is physically and financially wrecked, the garden is unkempt and the pub kitchen is unusable.
Over recent months more and more people have stopped coming in, when they arrive and the pub is closed or they are chucked out half way through their beer.
It is uninviting, but it is the only pub in the village and all our friends go there, any other pub is a fair drive away.
There are supposedly new people coming in, but no one knows when. They were supposed to start last week, but the old guy is still there.

I would love to get the ban overturned, but we never see this guy, he says he has not set foot in the pub for 6 months. I am sure he would not listen anyway, he has been so unreasonable. I find it appalling, for example, that he did not ban anyone himself, but asked his long standing barmaid to do it. She has worked in the pub for decades and knows everyone personally. Getting her to chuck people out was dreadful and very unfair.
I am was asking originally if there was any basis to challenge to ban as I was not involved in the alleged incident or whatever. I did not expect to get a lot of nasty comments, some people are very unhelpful.

Sometimes I'm just glad I live in a great big City with a thousand pubs and where I'm anonymous having walked for 2 minutes from my house.

If you never see the guy how has he communicated to you that he hasn't been in the pub for 6 months?
People have been helpful. The landlord can ban anyone they wish. Which you knew already and has subsequently been confirmed.
