recessed light bulbs types

I have those types of bulbs in my bathroom and noticed my smart monitor display goes red when they are switched on. Is this just the initial surge?

It's entirely possible that they're a major contributor to your electricity bill.

How many of these lamps are there in you bathroom? Do they all come on together? How long do you run them for? And how many watts does your smart meter display say they're using?

Can you wire a plug? Replace a light switch? (I mean, safely and competently…)

The initial step is to extract one of the light fittings, and locate the trannie. Take a photo of the spec plate.

If you can replace these hellish halogens with LEDs, you will literally be much better of.

No, not a DIYsh. Calling an electrician would be more expensive than the savings, even in the long term. My flat could do with some rewiring as well.
