HELP! Samsung
Suddenly this morning, when I tried to go into Firefox on my A26, I was met with a Samsung account page. I input my email, and had to do my password again as I'd forgotten it, but it was no use and I seem to be caught up with a load of Samsung nonsense that I don't seem to be able to get out of.
So, in simple terms, how do I get out of this? Do I really need a Samsung account? If not, how do I get out of it? Will there be other apps which I can't get into either?
TIA

Does Chrome work?
No you don't need a Samsung account (I'll rephrase that, you don't need to sign your phone into a Samsung account) but the one Samsung phone I have without it can be naggy.
The other phones that are logged into Samsung are very quiet about it, but no doubt harvesting my data much like Google is. I need the account on these devices because of some data sharing requirements between Samsung devices.

I thought I had Chrome but I don't seem to have, that was what I first thought of. On my tablet, also a Samsung, it had the same problem but I had the option of ""not now"" or something and it was alright.
So how do I rectify it?

You haven't given any details of what "a load of Samsung nonsense" actually is so I'll guess.
Might be that some of the (non-Google) apps that are installed on your device(s) are loaded from the Samsung Store rather than the Google Play Store.
These apps need to be updated from time to time so need access to their 'home store' which in turn needs you to login to your Samsung account.
Although it's not likely you installed Firefox from the Samsung store.
You will have accepted having a Google account running on your device in order to do pretty much anything useful, why not just set up a Samsung account? You'll get a few marketing notifications/emails but not overmuch if you tick the right boxes.

First off, I don't have a Samsung Store in the apps.
I've now discovered that on trying to access my Firefox, I get up a page which says, "Couldn't reset your password". But if I press the 3 vertical dots on the top right hand corner, lower down on the page which opens, I get the usual "bookmarks" etc, and can access my Firefox that way. Very strange!!
Would it help if I uninstall the Firefox app than re-install it?

I misremembered, it's called the Galaxy Store, labelled 'Store' on my phone, icon's a red handbag. System app so can't be uninstalled.
Sounds like your Firefox login (if you have one) needs a password change. Wouldn't hurt to reinstall it (if no vital bookmarks etc stored there).

Thanks for your help, I've now uninstalled Firefox and then re-installed it, and it's working normally. Thanks again.
