Seller wanting me change feedback.
I ordered an item from an eBay seller 4 weeks ago.
The item had estimated delivery of a week.
Within a day or 2 of ordering the the item was down as delivery stage
No tracking was available then but then after about week it was down as despatched and still no tracking.
14 days before getting my delivery tracking was provided and it has AliExpress on it and was in China.
Item eventually arrived 28 days from order and apart from a non UK plug it is ok.
I get a eBay email asking for feedback so I gave a true opinion of my experience and said delivery was poor.
The seller contacted me and asked for me to give him 5 stars as he has only been a seller for 5 months and he has a sick wife to look after and he didn't have the item in stock so ordered it from China.
Should I change my feedback my feedback or is this a normal thing for sellers to do when they don't get 5 stars?

I wouldn’t change it. He shouldn’t be selling stuff he hasn’t got in stock. The rest of the story might be true, personally I’m sceptical.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.8 -
I'm dealing with something similar on eBay right now. The item is clearly coming from China. Estimated delivery for me was 10 days - item hadn't arrived so I wrote to the seller. They said 3-5 days. I've waited another week and item still not showing as even dispatched.
Now I have left a very poor review and asked for my money back.
Clearly the majority of the reviews are fake and the few poor reviews are real. Shame as eBay has usually been good, but it looks like it's now attracting these type of sellers on there.

Don’t change the feedback, it’s there as a warning to other buyers, not as a punishment. IF someone else had already left warnings about items coming from the Far East and taking weeks then perhaps you wouldn’t have wasted your time on it. I’d also report seller to eBay for drop shipping without declaring it and false misrepresentation of location (if that wasn’t correct on listing). There is no sick wife, there’s a handful of stock excuses used across all the sites, either sick wife, sick child or the boss will sack them ….
On the matter of late deliveries whilst I’m not an advocate of opening an INR immediately the day after the last EDD of delivery I would be very cautious of waiting to long where item is likely to be shipped from overseas. There is a time limit for an INR and some sellers will try and run that down by using a host of excuses to get you to wait a bit longer. Once the time limit has passed a buyer can’t easily get a refund, and any feedback left might also be able to be removed by eBay if selelr complains that buyer didn’t win an INR.

Remember that YOUR feedback is exactly that… your honest opinion on the seller and service/item you receive.
Changing it would make fake and frankly pointless.
I’d also mention being put under pressure to change/leave untrue feedback so potential buyers are aware of this sellers behaviour.

You can't actually fake reviews on eBay, only the purchaser can leave feedback and stars.

I messaged him to say I will not be charging the feedback that I had given him.
He replied back and and asked again and also mentioned the ill wife.
I looked again to see if my feedback was up and it is and I noticed 2 other negative reviews saying the same thing and he saying about ill relatives and a car crash.
I think that answers my question.

Last time a thread like this came up MSE warned me for posting the blunt reality or pitfalls of buying from drop shippers on Ebay .
Soolin has summed it up well, better than myself…..which is less pointed than my past post on another similar thread .
About all we can do is spend hours of "time wasting research" if your not up to speed which people dont/wont do.
They just click buy and then come on here ….which is very positive for others as it highlights the issue .
The non uk plug thing is very wrong though thats a safety issue on electrical items .
This is not going to go away until Ebay addresses dropshipping or either ebay does what its done so far which is nothing cause it provides revenue.
As they have always said ….buyer beware …not much has changed its just cheap dirty water in a new looking bottle.

Ok... But it doesn't take too much to organise to buy a bunch of items and leave a bunch of good reviews either - so not exactly fake, but not honest either. And we are talking about a seller who already buys/sells stuff via Temu etc. It's all cheap. I took the risk with my item (as that's all I could find), but won't be making that error again.

Before you purchase anything check the (About) information and then feedback about will tell you if it's a UK business. Feedback will tell you more in the first glance of the standard you'll be getting.

I did check it before I purchased and says uk business account.
I got a reply yesterday to the message I sent in reply to his and he was saying how much he has got going with relatives health and him ordering from abroad as he didn't have any in stock was doing me a favour and my negative review will cause problems for him and other things.
I have had enough "lies" and not be replying anymore.
