Ring Bosch with the serial number and they will tell you if it has a 5, 7 or10 year g'tee.

It has a 10 year warranty as it's on her paperwork and the emails that she got from BOXT and WB.

They (WB) send their own engineers. Been very good the few times I've used them.

My partner contacted WB today and explained and they weren't that impressed with BOXT and also said that they have nothing on their system to say that the boiler was serviced this October or any contact from them.

WB are coming Saturday to do the AAV but not the inhibitor as they don't do that so I will get some for for and top it up at the weekend.

As for putting in the inhibitor can I put it in now before the engineer does the replacement part?

Will the engineer have to drain the system to remove and then replace the part as I don't want to put inhibitor in if that happens.

I only have Friday to put inhibitor in as I will be away for nearly 2 weeks.

Will waiting 2 weeks damage the boiler?

Thank you for all the replies and advice I have got.

I would buy it today and leave it there under the boiler with a note saying 'any chance you could put this in please?'

If it has a filter they might just do it. If they have not do it when you get back.

WB wont have record of the service but it should show on the Boxt App. Might also be recorded in the back of the boiler benchmark document if it's there with the boiler. Hopefully they got a gas safety certificate.

Not sure what you mean by "hopefully they got a gas safety certificate"?

I would of thought BOXT or WB would make sure if they send a person to work on a boiler they would be registered.

If that's not what you're on about then please explain more.

The BOXT app just says service complete and your boiler is in top shape and protected which obviously isn't true as it needs a new part.

Well that repair hasn't gone well.

WB person said the gas pressure was low so turned off the boiler and Cadent are going to check the pressure.

He done a test on the water and said that there are signs of corrosion and low inhibitor and it needs flushing and re dosing of inhibitor.

I did put 900ml of inhibitor in last night and ran the heating for half an hour to circulate.

He said it could be getting corrosion because of the faulty AAV but can't guarantee it.

The lady called a plumber and they quoted over the phone a starting price of £550.

I don't know how to do it on a sealed combi as I have done it loads of times on a back boiler but I used to put in cleanser for a week or so and then flush it out and put in inhibitor.
