Is this actually true? 🤔
If it isn't true, it's really not 'another way to look at it'.

I can understand that.
Otherwise it is a shopping benefit open to abuse by people under 60.
I just show my bus pass.

Ho ho ho 😂

Yes I can see that. But the first time I got the discount the girl at the till took one look at me and gave me the discount. Maybe I should have been insulted that she didn't want to check my ID!

Ho ho ho. 😛
Most of the staff at my local Iceland know me anyway
But showing ID to prove age in face-to-face situations like shops/bars/pubs is different to what the OP alleges has happened i.e. to prove they are who they say they are.
And the OP still hasn't answered why their pension was stopped in the first place.

Heh, made me laughed right out! :)

I guess it's possible that the OP has managed to spend/give away £300k in 12 months but I think that it's likely that finding £100 to pay for a passport is not likely to be an issue. Nor has OP indicated that the application process itself would be difficult.
So it's A Point of Principle.
Fair enough, and given that this issue has been taken up (and not resolved) by the OP's MP, it does make well-meaning suggestions of other ID options rather superfluous.
Not sure what else the OP expects of this board outside the support that has been shown for their position (by some posters)?
What's the next step if the OP wishes to continue their objection? The civil courts?

From the opening post:
the only ID that they accept that is applicable to me is a passport
So the pension administrators do accept other forms of ID, it's just that the OP doesn't consider them applicable.
Do we know what these other forms of ID are? Is the OP an edge case whereas most people could use something else?
