SEARCH is not working at all (09/10 11:18)
What I did:
Searched the forum for various terms, both logged in and not logged in
@MSE_Stephen please expedite
What Should happen:
It should return a list of threads containing the search term
What happened:
All search terms return "No results found."
Why it matters:
Search is a fundamental function for the forum.
Device/Browser:
Windows PC using Chrome, same using Edge

Hi @One-Eye
I've asked our provider to look into this urgently.

Update
As our provider updated their language and translation system this week, we took the opportunity to ask for a small change of language settings that happened overnight - From English to British English.
(It doesn't really make much difference, but we might as well be on the right language!)This might have unexpectedly hit our Search results. A reindex is underway but it might take a while - 4.2m discussions and 47.7m comments!

Yes - some results are coming through, but it is not yet reliable for all terms.
I will monitor and report later this evening.

8:10pm still lots of search terms finding nothing.
Some search terms are returning the threads posted today without showing any older threads.

11:50pm progress is slow, and the forum is also running slowly - maybe related.
Some common search terms are returning results from twenty years ago but nothing more recent!

Saturday 12:15pm - appears to be no progress with the search terms I am using for testing.
The extract below shows a typical situation. Search term "disney" sorted by newest.
The first two entries are new posts since the "reset". The remainder are around 20 years old. There are no results between 9th August 2007 and 8th October 2026.1 -
Saturday 9:55pm - No progress. I think the search database rebuild has failed or been halted.
I have been testing search terms from new competitions posted on 8th October. Some search terms to try if you want to see the problem are below. All these terms would be expected to return a significant number of other results as well a those from 8th Oct
"Hawkshead" ; "zizzi" ; "astronomy" ; "miller" ; "percy" ; "Rioja" ; "bravia" ; "fortnum" ; "silver" ; "waitrose"

Sunday 1pm - It's a miracle!
Search is working normally, including for all the terms in the previous post.
For example, on competitions time, fortnum was finding just a handful of threads from 2007 yesterday but today it is finding 1.1k threads!
sheerluxe.com was finding nothing at all yesterday and is finding 999 threads today.
