Selling Your Mobile To Online Resellers

Just had the first experience of trying to sell a couple of mobile phones to two of the well-known online resellers.

One organisation has a drop-off agreement with one of the well-known shoe repair chains. The phone is inspected at drop-off and the offered price verified. The payment is then supposed to be received via bank transfer. The drop-off is confirmed by their system via an email and their system informs you that payment has been sent. Three working days later…nothing received…no way to contact them apart from email…the only response is that they are too busy to respond within the usual 48 hours and will do so when they can.

The other organisation was sent a phone in perfect physical condition and the battery capacity within their requirements for the price offered on the website. They acknowledged receipt and informed me that they are revising the price offered due to a chip or more that 5 scratches on the phone. The reduction was from £110 to £95. I took detailed pictures of the phone prior to sealing it in its original box then sending it in an outer box with padding. When I rejected their offer their "retention" department offered an extra £5 without any explanation. This was also rejected. During a telephone interaction with them I was told they can only offer a price based on the condition the item was received. I explained that I had photographic evidence of the phone showing no such damage and that I wanted my property returned without any damage. If the phone arrives back showing a chip and scratches then how can I sue this organisation for such practices please.
