Doesn't just apply to simple delivery...with any listing you cannot exchange addresses until you have bought (and almost certainly made the payment.)

To be honest buyer makes the payment to ebay, ebay releases the funds (less their cut) once delivery or collection is confirmed. Imo safer than handing over a large amount of cash.

You would need to change the listing to collection and delivery and if they bought it then Ebay systems would generate a collection code which the buyer would give you to enter into Ebay to confirm collection.

simple delivery and managed payments have made a lot of difference to selling over the past 3 or 4 years. It has at least stopped the issue of PayPal collection scams, which caught a lot of people out.

Mainly for things like cars and boats. The managed payment system is mandatory for all the other categories, and has been said buyers address is not shared until payment is made.
