I knew this would happen - someone gave me his ticket when he left
Thanks to this forum I defeated a parking ticket from NCP about 3 years ago - they wasted half a forest in threatening letters.
So I've been through the instructions etc
I might have dropped a clanger this time. I parked up, there was only the app or phone ways to pay - the booth that took cash was closed. I couldn't get a signal and people were wandering round scratching their heads trying to figure out what to do.
Some chap waved me over and said, here use my ticket. It had no reg number on it or even a date, but it did have some kind of serial number. He said something about the attendant never comes round anyway so don't worry. I couldn't see a camera but there was one, I've got a lovely photo to prove it
At the time I did wonder, am I being set up here? Does he go round doing this to everyone and takes a cut? Yeah I know I'm being paranoid and yes I didn't pay.
Anyway I've got a PCN, £100 or £60 within 14 days. I'm about to leave for the airport tomorrow and I'll be away until after the deadline
I'm kicking myself for believing the mystery man with his stupid ticket. Do I have a chance

Which parking company ? Location. ?
Definitely sounds like a setup to me, the tickets are never transferable. ! ( especially not private parking cases. )

I wouldnt say never, as ive been to a few places with P&D where people have offered tickets that stuill have an hour or so left on them, with the shopping centres/councils full knowledge as well - you pay to rent a car park space for X amount of time regardless of whats plonked in it as long as it doesnt leak or cause an obvious obstruciton

I don't want to say on here - they monitor this site don't they?

In my area ( Greater Manchester ) i dont know of anywhere that doesn't require VRM entry for paper tickets etc , even the council ones that give 2 hours free require VRM entry ( years ago , perhaps 10 or 20 years ago ) giving your unexpired ticket to someone else was common practice, like at Asda , but not these days )

I too suspect it's a set up.
Any chance you can stake this place out a few times, if you are local? Get a video as proof of the guy doing this. It would get UKPPO banned by the DVLA.

I wouldn't put anything past UKPPO , definitely fishy
These free or unexpired parking tickets options certainly wont work in Manchester City Centre !
No appeal will work, so ignore them
