You could try a router with a SIM card that give you multi-GB of data for the times you are away. These devices have the aerials to get a better signal than mobis usually manage and create a WiFi hotspot.

Well a lot of these replies are saying I need to use a mobile network or starlink thanks but that is not what I am asking.

The wifi works OK near the transmitter mast but not in the caravan so I am looking for something to go on the caravan roof to pick up the signal and boost it so I can use it in and near the caravan.

    This is £67. TP-Link RE715X AX3000 This is £25. TP-Link RE330 AC1200

Others are priced much much more, is it worth paying more or just getting the cheaper one?

It is not clear what you are referring to there with "transmitter mast".

Are you saying you want an external WiFi antenna to pick up the site's WiFi and bring it into the caravan, or are you saying you want a better mobile network antenna for your own WiFi hub and bypassing the site WiFi altogether. They are very different solutions.

Re: use of a Wi-Fi repeater.

What transmitter mast? Does the caravan site have a decent Wi-Fi access point up a pole?

You've got two possible issues, the 'strength' of the host Wi-Fi signal and the capacity/quality of that host's internet connection.

The repeater might be able to 'boost' a weak signal to give you a connection to the host, but if that host is trying to service a load of many connections on an inadequate internet connection then you might be disappointed in the actual performance, despite your devices showing a strong Wi-Fi signal.

Further issue is getting the signal inside your 'van. Those repeaters are designed for home/indoor use, plugged into a 13A socket, not sure that the Wi-Fi signal will get to the repeater without some kind of external antenna which I don't think they are equipped to carry. You might be able to dangle it out of a window/skylight on an extension lead but not recommended.

You might need some specialist kit, likely to be not cheap, and again the place to look for advice on this stuff is the caravan/RV online forums.

A typical WiFi signal booster won't work very well inside the aluminium shell of a caravan which blocks the signal. You should look at a system with external aerial designed for the purpose - Alfa WiFi CampPro 3 Wireless Extender package

As pointed out, a boosted signal won't help if dozens of campers are all hammering the only 25Mbps internet connection from the site.

This is the transmitter mast and as I said wifi is fine close to it but not in the caravan. We have mains hook up so plugging into a 13a socket is not a problem.

That clarifies the issue a bit. A good article here looking at the options for such a scenario...

Edit: not a cheap solution but just an article Google found explaining what is needed.

    Have a look at a ZTE-U50 with TS9 aerial

That's a MiFi unit, OP has stated that they are not interested in a 4/5G mobile solution.

Yes I know, it's a similar idea to what you suggested, but available with a aerial
