Afternoon all. I have been shopping with all the left over gift vouchers we have had in the house, plus some new ones from Christmas. It was most enjoyable (no snow here). I bought a lovely but very sensible handbag,:D as i found an unpaid bill in the bottom of my scruffy bag, and now I have to re-jig my accounts. Hopefully will keep new bag tidy and things in right places!!
Then got cross when i got home. letter from Halifax creditcard. Have rang and paid them this morning for a missed payment on 28th December, first missed payment to them ever. They have written to say they have reduced my credit limit without warning from £15,000 to £6750, less than half, and stopped my card. How dare they    . One missed payment, ONE. And i have paid it. As it happens, i don't want the card, i am paying it off on 1st february, so i have ust done my letter ready, it goes like this
I received a letter last month dated 3rd January 2008, regarding a missing payment to my credit card on 28th December 2007. Having paid my credit card bills by direct debit for some years, and never having missed a payment before, I find your reaction to this disappointing to say the least. You have reduced my credit limit without warning and by a substantial sum. Fortunately, I never asked for the inflated limit that you provided me with, nor do I want it or need it. However, I can only feel sadness for the lack of understanding you clearly show your customers at a time of year when people are most likely to poorly manage their finances.
In response to your excessive actions to my missed payment, I am repaying my account in full, and closing the account permanently. Please remove my details from your mailing lists and telephone marketing, as I no longer wish to be contacted by Halifax in relation to credit cards services.
Yours sincerely

That sounds good!! How come i can never manage to put things across like that! You tell 'em!Current debt - £16,300
Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
No problems with the debt, they have the highest interest rates any way,I was planning to get rid of that one first. (goes off to find stamp for envelope with a determined grin).
Seriously though, I know they are entitled to do this, and it is my fault, but it is a bit over the top. Some people who are working their way out of debt would be totally left dangling if they did it to them and they had used the cash to pay off a higher debt. The credt card companies are getting wobbly I think because of all the talk of bad credit. But their response to me is not the right answer.unsecured Debts at [strike]August 2007 £79,984[/strike] September £79,579 [STRIKE]Snowballing date July 2013[/STRIKE].

I tried to call the company but they seem to think they've only sent one, I thought it was too cheeky to send it back for a refund. Anyway, I'm on virgin too and it works a treat, you're welcome to it if you want it.
oooooooooooooh Toto, you are fantastic............yes please.......I'll PM you my address - let me know how much you think the postage will be.
