Social water supply tariffs, are they any good?
Does anyone who is on social tariff having the same observations as me? Social tariffs have been advertised as a possibility to reduce your bills by 60% (for the first year). And yet, since I am on Assure Essential Saver by SSW, the water bill, by my calculations, has gone down by only 15%. Most importantly, I was surprised to find out the discount applied is only on the used water, only on behalf of SSW, the rest of the charges stay on standard rate.
Is that how the social tariffs suppose to work?

I'm on a fixed £30 per month (Assist) social tariff with Wessex water, which I had to really fight for….
It is supposed to be disabled friendly - and non-means tested - but Wessex Water insisted on it being means tested - I use a lot of water due to toilet use. Eventually they conceded and gave me the tariff !
