  • Sorry I'm late to the party! 🤦‍♀️ mega headache Monday and yesterday so absolutely nothing done at all 🙄 However, all better now so today I've been sorting the chaos!

I have fed and watered the moggies; cleaned, scrubbed and refilled their litter tray; fed the birds, cleaned, scrubbed and refilled their water bowls; cleaned and vacuumed the bathroom; cleaned and vacuumed our bedroom; vacuumed the landing and stairs; bleached and polished all the door handles, light switches, and sockets; bleached the handrails on the stairs and polished the spindles and finials; vacuumed the hallway and polished the table; vacuumed the yoga room and sofa in there; polished all the tables in the front room, wiped windowsills and vacuumed; cleaned the utility room and vacuumed; cleaned the kitchen and vacuumed; cut half of the grass in the back garden (battery has died on the lawnmower so I'll finish it when it's charged) and made chutney.

Jobs still to do are: the rest of the garden and mopping the floors in the kitchen, utility and hallway. I'll probably have to vacuum them again first though as the cat hair gets everywhere within seconds! 🙄😂

Afternoon all. One wash load done today and dry and put away. Shopping delivered this morning, then over to DD1's to collect her dog to look after until tomorrow afternoon. Cable box deleted all our recordings and planned recordings this morning for the second time. So I spent an hour on the phone where I was told to reboot it (that's what cleared everything the first time, which I told her). Obviously it cleared everything. So eventually it was decided we needed a new box and hub but I got an upgrade out of it for the same price. Not sure it was worth an hour of my life but we'll see if it gets sorted on Saturday. At least the box is working for now, although there's nothing to watch at the moment… Off to get DGD4 from school in a little while and she's back here until after tea. I still feel shaky from ringing up because I hate it. All those messages about how busy they are, how they value my custom, why don't I go online.

Vent over. Hope everyone's mostly OK x

    • bit of kitchen tidy/clean
    • lake swim. Saw kingfisher twice!
    • drumming practice
    • checked greenhouse. Picked plum tomatoes. Continued harvesting outside with spinach/chard.
    • did a large amount of hedge pruning. We've decided to remove a few miscellaneous and unruly shrubs/ivy/general mess from one corner of the end hedge, in order to provide an area to stand wheelbarrows and spare pots i.e. the gibble that clutters up in front of 2 compost bays.
    • went to zumba
    • sorted out some payout from t0pcashback as I'm nearing choosing a new phone; mine won't run some apps, needs charging frequently and keeps telling me it's out of storage. I've just looked up when I bought it: August 2019, so it hasn't done badly.

    Odd jobs done this morning:

    • finished re-writing a song for the young church families to practice for Harvest Festival
    • sorted out some pictures to make cards for the children to colour
    • checked I have the necessary ingredients for a harvest loaf
    • sorted out lids to fit the many empty jars that I have been given this week
    • having been given a bag of very ripe tomatoes at last night's church council meeting, I have prepped them with some chillis and they are now simmering in the SC, to be turned into more tomato and chilli jam
    • prepped the rhubarb I acquired on Sunday, and will use it with some of the enormous pears that I also acquired last night to make rhubarb, pear and ginger jam - it's that time of year - and I've been promised a bag of green tomatoes on Sunday so more chutney on the horizon
    • watered plants in the LR which I often forget to do
    • will be going out for a short walk with Rosie soon
    • need to deliver a birthday card and shop later for more ginger and sugar, plus antiseptic wipes for the grab bag

This afternoon I am going to a talk about the benefits of drumming exercises - I shall be channelling my inner Narc0!
